Optimizing Fertility Through Preconception Care

Preconception care supports your body in creating the ideal environment for conception. By focusing on the health of both parents, we help boost fertility, balance hormones, and increase the chances of a healthy pregnancy, labor, and baby.

“A couple from Michigan struggled to conceive. We focused on her overall health first—detox, hormone balance, and stress. Within a few months, they shared their happy news. Supporting fertility starts with supporting the woman.”

- Dr. Doug Cutler, Founder at Cutler Integrative Medicine

When Should I Start Preconception Care?

The best time to start preconception care is 12 to 18 months before conception is planned. If you are hoping to conceive earlier, we can work with you on a program. You and your partner will want time to obtain the proper tests, implement steps to achieve optimal personal health, and have enough time to detoxify and chelate your bodies.

Vitamins and other micronutrients are essential for creating a healthy environment for pregnancy. These include Vitamins B, C, D, and E, and calcium. Folic acid is another important nutrient to promote healthy fetal growth.

Expectations for Lifestyle Changes in Preconception Care

While Dr. Cutler will help you make a customized plan for your preconception care, you should maintain a healthy lifestyle as you prepare to be pregnant. If you have any existing medical concerns, such as high blood pressure, Hypothyroidism or Diabetes, it’s important that those are under control before becoming pregnant. Additionally, establishing a wholesome diet,
Managing Stress, and developing an exercise routine will help ensure a healthy pregnancy.
